@manavkhadkiwala is calling you…. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hello… …anyone there?! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Voyager space probes are the farthest human-made object in space. In 1977, they carried with them on board two Golden records, each contained snippets of information about our pale blue dot – songs, images, scientific information, our location in the universe and instructions on how to decode the messages on the records. This celestial message in a bottle was a romantic gesture, with the hope that it would one day be found by other non-human life forms or perhaps even human civilizations in the distant future. What if we were to hear back from beyond the limits of our earthly abode? What cosmic songs would we hear? What new medium would the confluence of our proliferating communication networks and space probes yield? What if we’ve already heard some of these messages lurking somewhere within the spectrum of noise…could we tell if what we are hearing is 'unearthly'? The prompt for this call is a simple message hand-etched on the Golden Records which reads – ‘To the makers of music, all worlds, all times.’ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ – Sign ups for participation will continue throughout the show.
